Sept. 19, 2007 - It's a very tough, emotional, heartbreaking day for us today at the ranch. We had Buster humanely euthanized. Buster meant a great deal to us from the day he was born (three-weeks early). He had undergone major surgery to save his life, came home, was growing up and was getting ready to be a show horse. Things at the ranch are never the same with any loss of our horses but, Buster was one of those "Special" horses one tends to pick out in crowd. Whether it was his tremendous size and appearance for a weanling, his "Buckskin" color, or just his big bright eyes looking at you when you walked by his stall wanting you to just come in for a quick hello or brushing, Buster always put a smile on our faces and it was good just to have him in our presence. We miss you Buster! A special thanks needs to go out to our vet, Dr. Todd Laughrey, Dr. John McCarroll and the entire staff at Equine Medical Associates for their efforts, knowledge, expertise, and compassion for Buster and for us.
